Tuesday Coffee Chat: What Would I Like to do...

Oh, Leslie, it's been such a long time since I've chatted with you on Tuesday. Despite the cold temperatures and changing leaves, I think I'm still holding onto summer for as long as possible. My flip flops aren't going in the closet just yet (as I can still feel my toes most days). But, it's time to get chatting again!

Chat Prompt: Tell us something you've never done, but would like to know. What's holding you back?

I dream about traveling around the U.S. with my husband and kids (or maybe just the husband if the kids are older and off living their lives). In an RV. For years. Am I crazy?

I've got my camper all picked out...

This way all my crochet creations won't be sitting in a laundry basket, piling up while I decide what I'm going to do with them. I'll just attached them to my RV! (Wonder if the husband will be OK with this? I'll make sure to crochet up some fish and fishing poles to put on the camper too!)

Wouldn't it be AWESOME to experience what God has created in all its splendor, stopping whenever you want, chatting it up with the locals, eating at the local favorites?

And if you need to bathroom, it's right there!

Maybe not in that eensy crochet camper. Perhaps I should rethink my camper...

That should work. What do you think?

Grand Canyon. Mt. Rushmore. Washington DC. Gateway to the West. The Redwoods. Yellowstone. Those caddies sticking up from the ground. All stops along the way!

But until we figure out a way to financial support our road trip around the states, my dream of RV living is on hold. Perhaps some day...

  2. You put a smile on my face this morning. Money is what holds me back from traveling with the family.

  3. This is Keilee and I's dream too!!! I am loving that crocheted camper ;) We talk so often about selling everything and doing this. If my job was steady we could do it since I work from home but my job is practically non existent. Hope we both get our dreams someday! :)

    1. Tom and I have talked about, searched for our dream camper, discussed ways to earn money along the journey. I don't think it's impossible for any of us! Just think of the adventures...

  4. This is definitely my husband's vision of the future. And you know, I am not opposed to it all. But I think I could only do it for a couple of years, and then I'd want some solid home base again. Maybe travel down South during our harsh Winter months, and then come back here for the Summer. I do really like the idea of downsizing and living more simply. And being so close to the outdoors all the time. yeah - I could definitely get on board with this plan.

    1. I'm not seeing a way to comment on your post, Leslie...But I went and read! LOL The idea of downsizing and simplifying is something that I strive for. You should see the livingroom. It gets barer and barer as the years go on. Really - how much of this stuff do we USE? Most of it we store for what if!

  5. That first camper totally cracked me up! It would be hilarious to see that traveling down the road! :) The hubby and I have been talking about doing that in the future, too - we've done some cross-country road trips as our vacation (and since we were living in PA but my family was here in Washington State) but we were usually in a hurry to get as many miles on the road done in a day and didn't take our time to stop and smell the roses (although a couple of stops I did schedule it so that we could enjoy some sights like Mt. Rushmore). :) But I'd love to do an extended trip going to all the places we've heard of but not seen! :)

    1. Sometimes I'm like that, especially with young kids in TOW, but there's something intriguing about meandering...
