9:08amWEATHER IN MY NECK OF THE WOODS
A sunny 43 degrees F (or 6 degrees C) is forecasted for a high today. Time to pull out the winter jackets, hats, mittens, and scarves, and turn on the furnace.
IN THE GARDEN
Leaves! With the foliage colors past peak and a blustery weekend, the leaves and pine needles have been swirling around us like snowflakes. The lawn is covered in a blanket of red and yellow crunchy leaves.
LOOKING AROUND THE HOUSE
It's clear we have a little cleaning to catch up from the weekend. There's laundry on the clothesline. There's laundry in the dryer. There's laundry in the hamper. Laundry Day!

CREATING FROM THE CRAFT BASKET
I finished Cate's Red Heart with Love purple and teal scoodie just in time for a cold snap to hit us on Sunday. Some places in Maine got their first snow fall! :: shudder :: Anyway, she's happy with the result, and it's sure to keep her warm through the winter season. The pattern is free from Posh Pooch Designs HERE. I added a scalloped edge around the opening of the hood as well as made the scarf longer than the pattern called for (because my daughter wanted it that way).
I'm sharing my crocheting creations over at Lucy Blossom Crafts (Mondays), Frontier Dreams (Tuesdays), The Philosopher's Wife (Tuesdays), Small Things (Wednesdays), Oombawka Design (Wednesdays), Lunamon Design (Wednesdays), and Natural Suburbia (Fridays).

DEVOTIONAL
My new KJB bible arrived from Local Church Bible Publishers last Saturday, earlier than anticipated. I've already created 3 art journaling pages for it with an additional 2 from Cate. What a WONDERFUL creative way for me to study God's word!My 3rd Page. Whimsical Owls for Proverbs. Drawn in Tracing Paper. Colored With Colored Pencils. Tabs from Scrapbook Paper. We have had our furnace on for a while now, its been too chilly here. The coats/hats/gloves are coming out this week! That chicken/rooster photo is hilarious! I love, love, love that journaling Bible! I have to look into getting me one!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Jodi, every time I visit your blog and see your userpic I think Jodie Foster. You look a bit like her! Anyway, glad you stopped by. I've turned the furnace back off now. We've warmed up again. Heating oil is SUCH on expensive for our long winters! (I commented on your blog about my bible...)
DeleteLove the chickens in costumes!! Ha!
ReplyDeleteIt's chilly at night here, but most days are still warm. Going all the way to 82 this afternoon!
Hope you have an awesome week :)
Summer! LOL I'd like some 60s and 70s again. We're supposed to hit 60 again today...But whatever weather thrown at us we'll get through!
DeleteOh, the scoodie is great! I'm glad to see what it looks like completed. Laundry day, eh? Good thing you don't have to follow the procedures on the laundry day list my sister gave me years ago. The first thing to so on laundry day was to fetch wood to build the fire that heated the water for washing. :-D
ReplyDeleteOh. I think my family would be wearing things for quite a number of days if I had to do that! We're spoiled nowadays!
Deletethose chickens! Oh my heavens, yes! Your photography is gorgeous and I have mad respect for people who do fiber arts!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless, my friend!
Thanks, Joanna! I taught myself to crochet with You Tube! You can lean most anything there! I still am progressing to more complicated projects.
DeleteYour hat/scarf looks lovely and cosy and I love the picture of the chickens!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lucy! My daughter chose the colors. I wasn't so sure about them, but she loves it!
DeleteMy hubby broke down and turned on the heat this weekend. Sunday we actually had snow flurries! So not ready for SNOW!
ReplyDeleteThat chicken picture is awesome :D
Love the bible journaling page as well.
Thanks for popping in, Any! Some places north of us had snow flurries....some even had even to cover the ground. I'll wait until January! LOL

DeleteOh wow the chucks!! And I love your daughter's hood scarf, it looks very warm and snug and perfect against the snow that's coming!
ReplyDeleteThe hood and scarf looks brilliant, I love her choice of colours, I'm all for adding the extra length, it's more for wrapping around to keep the wind and cold out on those pesky cold days. Love your photo's. :)
