Weekly Wrap-up: Week 20 - The One Before Winter Break...Maybe

We rediscovered Rummikub this past week. Cate joined Tom and I for some games filled with laughter and "mock" boasting. We'll have to try another game this week as I did not win most of the games. :: wink :: We did have a 4th player join us for a few minutes...

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Sylvia! A mixture of work and fun. I wish everything could be fun, but I don't think Sam would find any kind of math or writing fun. LOL He gets through it though and we move onto his favorite subjects.

  2. I'm not familiar with that game. We are huge game players here. Your week looks great and so full of work!! I feel like some days we get so little actually accomplished because we have so many outside activities. Have a great weekend Jessy!!

    1. Try it, Karen! The rules are fairly simple, but there's a lot of strategy in playing. I'd like to have more field trips in our homeschooling. Being so rural, our opportunities for new experiences are limited...or we have to travel long distances. And right now it's just too cold to want to venture outside! LOL

  3. Wow! She's really making progress on that blanket! We haven't played Rummikub in years. Actually we haven't played board games in a while. We should do that, thanks for the reminder. Lol. Have another good week!

    1. She's finished it since I posted this! It's super heavy and thick! It'll keep her warm...and we need all the warm we can get right now. Gosh, it is brutally cold here. Since we don't have cable, we encourage game playing. The kids play quite a bit of video games (of course), but we like to balance things out. Feel better!

  4. We love game nights, too. Your kids are doing so well and accomplishing so much.

    1. Thanks, Phyllis! It's been a good year! Not without its bumps of course, but for the most part we are moving steadily forward. Big changes for next year though! My days as a homeschooling Mom are numbered now. Bittersweet!

    1. We seem to go through phases of what games we want to play. My oldest go a new Rummikub for Christmas, but we haven't played it in eons. Then, suddenly, everyone wants to play again. There's also been games of Cribbage lately too. Apples to Apples, Sorry! and Skip Bo are on the outs right now.
