Journal Jottings of a Maine Mama: January 25, 2016

Where did January go? Poof! Soon, it'll be February! I remember sitting in class, 5th grade actually, thinking how S-L-O-W time went. School took forever and a day to reach dismissal. Now? Days sometime fly by like minutes! But we're getting closer to spring...

CLOCK READS

WEATHER IN MY NECK OF THE WOODS
Sun and blue skies. We might just hit freezing today!

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW and IN THE GARDEN
Snow-covered.

WHAT I'M DOING RIGHT NOW and AROUND THE HOUSE
I'm in comfy, cozy sweats waiting for Sam to finish cooking his pancake breakfast sandwich so we can start homeschooling. I've vacuumed and swept the floors, gathered trash, and thought about doing the pile of dirty dishes.

TO DO
☐  Get to those Leaks

DINNER
Chicken, Gravy and Biscuits with Peas, Carrots and Celery

WHAT'S ON TV
"Mork and Mindy"! I found Retro TV shows on Hulu. I never watched "Mork and Mindy" as a child. I was just young enough that it wasn't a show I was interested in, but wasn't that Robin Williams a talent. :: sigh ::

FROM THE CRAFT BASKET
I finished my ripple blanket with fans in Red Heart Super Saver Frosted Green, Aran and White. (Free pattern here.) It measures 40x46. I don't often save my creations for myself, but THIS time I am! With the yarn scraps, I'm going to make a cute, striped owl pillow. (Free pattern here.)

I'm sharing my crocheting creations over at Lucy Blossom Crafts (Mondays), Frontier Dreams (Tuesdays), Small Things (Wednesdays), Oombawka Design (Wednesdays), and Lunamon Design (Wednesdays).

    1. I don't remember much either. I remember watching reruns when I was a little older, and when I saw it on Hulu I decided some wacky humor was jus the thing to crochet too! LOL

    1. Er. It's the only Sparks I haven't even borrowed...and started to read. LOL I know he writes many and some are movies, but I've never found these kinds of books that appealing. I'm odd, I guess. But so far this one is pretty good...

  5. Oh I so agree with you about time, I'm sure the time thief is working overtime. Stay warm and don't worry about the dishes.

  6. Oh! I remember Mork and Mindy! Glad you get to see it now. I saw both of those pageturners at the store today! They both looked good. I was just killing time while I waited for my prescriptions to be filled, so browsed the books. Love the colors on your ripples!

    1. I'm hoping to have the owl pillow completed for next Monday's journal, but we will see! Some days and weeks are busier than others...and I'm low on fiber filling. LOL

  10. NaNu NaNu! I remember watching that. We have a local channel that shows retro television and I'll live it up sometimes watching things like Happy Days and Fantasy Island. Hope you're having a wonderful week!
