Our 7th year of homeschooling is complete...almost! We have a few more days to finish up, but some fun, educational field trips in June will take care of that. It's been a year of curriculum trial-and-error, good days and frustrating days, and a lot of learning! And now it's SUMMER VACATION and SCHOOL PLANNING. Bring on the new curriculum! LOL
We continued to incubate our 4 chicken eggs, recording temperature and humidity levels and turning the eggs manually throughout each day. And we were able to see the air sac, chalazea, and the membrane inside an egg when making breakfast sandwiches one morning. 8 more days!
We were REALLY excited to see some new birds visit our feeders - 8 new species this month already! Check out this male wood duck! Isn't he cool?
My kids do chores everyday. We all pitch in to get what we can each day, but especially on busy days when together we can accomplish more. One of C's chores this week was to brush our Golden Retriever. I had to share these photos - she was one H-A-P-P-Y retriever! LOL
There's nothing like sitting through a 2 1/2 hour long softball game when it's 40 degrees, breezy AND raining! Brrrr! C had 2 games this week and a practice.

ReplyDeleteWe found a duck foating in our pool last Sunday morning. We can find frogs at times, but this was a first :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
What a wonderful week! So many great things. The happy dog pictures are priceless!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week! That is one happy dog too! Lol I love how you post the out and about things too. I may have to "borrow" that idea.
ReplyDeleteLove the duck photo and I love golden retrievers - such good dogs. Thanks for linking up this week, enjoy the rest of the weekend!
ReplyDeleteYay for being almost done!!!! I wish we were too.. It doesn't help that we are about to travel for the next 2-3 weeks, and a part of that will be without internet, grr... But we'll get there too :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I hear you on those freezing baseball games, some evenings I almost didn't believe it was May as I sat there with my winter jacket & boots and still freezing, lol!!
Hi! Found your blog via the HHH. :-) What great photos!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is exciting thinking about all of the curriculum choices for next year. I can't wait! (but, we need to finish up with this year first, lol)
I love the crafts that your kids made at Home Depot and Lowe's. I have to my kids back there on Saturday mornings. They always had a good time.
Kudos to having your kids do chores! Many children don't know what it is to contribute to their households.
The egg hatching looks awesome. Wow! What a great experience for your kiddos.
Have a great day and God bless! Lisa
