The younger Saplings found these books fun to look at and read! But not as a "regular school books". They perused these at bedtime and in the van going here-and-there; pleasure books with "hidden learning". (Aren't these the best kind of books?) On the other hand, White Pine, at 13, thought they lacked information so we'll GRADE them ELEMENTARY-AGE. LOL
For me, I especially like the Science Discovery boxes in World of Science that give short blurbs about famous Scientists - not all of our science books "talk" scientists! - and the green info boxes in The World of Animals that list characteristics of a particular animal. These blurp boxes are very convenient and helpful to young learners! However, I wish there were more detailed explanations of the whys and hows after the experiments in World of Science. This is just a little quibble though!
These are definite home library children's books for learning a little something about science and animals! Want more details? Click on any of the highlighted above book titles!
