Making Life a Little Easier: Home Projects Week 1

So, I had this idea that I would post weekly home projects on Sunday. There's SO much that needs to be accomplished around the house and yard (besides everyday cleaning and necessary repairs), but there never seems to be enough time in the day. Or maybe it's lack of motivation? I'm hoping that sharing these projects will keep me us doing them throughout the year. But I make no guarantees. ((wink))

(((drum roll)))

Home Projects Completed This Week:
Cleaned and Organized the School Office Supply Drawer
Cleaned and Organized MY School Drawer
Decluttered and Organized the Plastic Containers and Mixing Bowl Cupboard

But I was MOST HAPPY with the results of my homemade RECIPE BOOK. Not only does it flip open and lie flat if needed, but it's expandable and stands up on its own! And I created it with stuff I had on hand!

Now I didn't take before photos, but picture a cardboard box about 9 inches x 6 inches with scraps of paper and SOME recipe cards thrown in, jumbled, dog-eared, hard-to-find. Are you surprised we didn't use them? I didn't think so. LOL

So check out my new, improved and ORGANIZED recipe book! It's made from scrapbook paper picture frames (covers), white card-stock (dividers), binder rings (holding it together), and index cards (recipe cards).

Front cover made with Scrapbook paper photo frames...
and of course it's a rooster! LOL 2" binder or office
clips hold the recipe card holder together like a flipbook.

Inside Tabs - I traced worn tabbed dividers onto card-
stock and cut them out, labeled.

Recipe cards - I used 4x6 Index Cards since I had them
and they're sturdy and readily available...and flipped open
the recipe holder stands up hands free!

Back cover - flower and roosters!

What do you think? I think it came out perfectly!

(Mental Note: When I find a recipe most of us like, write it down right away and file it!)
