The universe that we live in is the result of God’s thoughtful design and careful building. Physics gives us a glimpse into the materials, laws, and structures of that universe. Behold the wonders of creation with this series of 30 easy-to-understand lessons for grades 4-8. Each lesson helps develop an understanding of matter and energy and the rules they follow. Exploring physics is an exciting adventure! - Bright Ideas Press
I was RELIEVED to read the "30 easy-to-understand lessons" part because Physics intimidates ME! I did take Physics in high school, and I did well, but the concepts covered in Physics seem, well, hard to understand NOW. (Or perhaps it's because I simply don't remember much from my high school Science years! LOL) So, when TOS offered it's crew the opportunity to review Bright Idea Press's Christian Kids Explore Science series, I "bit the bullet" and asked for Physics to try out with White Pine and Sugar Maple. Who would've known just how much Physics THEY already knew? Not me! LOL

• 400+ page Multi-Age One-Year 30 lessons Christian Science Curriculum Designed to be Used 2 Days Per Week
• Resource CD with Daily Lesson Plans, Material Lists, Follow-up Lesson Reviews, Activity Charts, Literature Study Guide, Coloring Pages, and All Printables.

Our Thoughts:
My older Saplings found Christian Kids Explore Science: Physics easy-peasy. (This curriculum is for grades 4-8; White Pine is in 7th grade and Sugar Maple 4th.) Now this is no indication of the quality of the program; we're just Science buffs! LOL Despite having no formal Physics curriculum, White Pine and Sugar Maple have picked up A LOT of concepts on their own. But the chapters are short, text easy to read and understand, and the hands-on activities simple to pull together. This curriculum could be used with younger, science-oriented kids starting in about 2nd grade. Overall, a great basic, multi-age Physics instruction curriculum that doesn't take a lot of prep work! Oh, this sounds GREAT! We love science around here too. I'm always on the look out for a good Bible based science book or curriculum for my kids. I'll have to check this out, thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the review:) I need to add pictures of my kids doing the assignments for my next review too. It is fun to try new things
